You have written a wonderfully heartwarming, deeply thoughtful, well-plotted book that carried me along as I read. You achieved the “I didn’t want to put it down” status!

In the literary tradition of Homer, Dante, Milton, and Lewis, Peter Falkenberg Brown has crafted a tale that carries the reader through hell on earth and in the spiritual world to wondrous realms of contentment and joy. All the while, the reader feels a longing and hope that Peter’s vision is not only a beautiful tale but true. Feed your heart and soul, pick up this book, and read it!

This spellbinding romantic novel will have you reading it nonstop. As a longtime student of the fascinating spiritual world, most of it rings true (naturally, on earth, we can’t possibly know everything about this super-vast reality), which can help us to be better prepared once there. The fundamental message of the book, which resonates deeply with all of us, is that life is all about unconditional, nonjudgmental, and compassionate love. And such love is forever.

Do we really create our own heaven or hell? What happens when our physical body dies? Is love actually that important? No one can say for sure, but Peter Falkenberg Brown (possibly with helpers from beyond) has written a creative page-turner that entertains and provides much to think about—and be touched by. His story about Edward’s adventures after his “death” has encouraged me to be more intentional about my moment-to-moment priorities. Thank you, Peter!

Edward Wild’s journey is told in stories strung together like fine gems. A few of these follow Edward into dark places before he emerges to a vision of paradise and renewed hope. I most enjoyed the chapters that dive deep into the meaning of life, love, and other important topics. With so much wisdom embedded in the book, one can look forward to reading it again and again.

Mr. Brown’s book is a journey of love, a “Wild” ride on the other side. Insightful, frightful, and delightful. I couldn’t put it down.

While reading this novel, I was inspired to look inward and reflect on the themes underlying and conveyed through the story. It propelled me to think a little more deeply and to re-evaluate my personal daily practices in a positive way. Thank you for the inspirations this book has given me.

The most intriguing aspect of the book is the depiction of the interaction between heaven and hell.

Edward’s adventures in the afterlife, a well-written, and frequently humorous tale, is often reminiscent of Life in the World Unseen or perhaps a grownup version of Narnia. While thoroughly enjoying the delightfully beautiful world Peter Brown creates, we felt gently prompted to reflect on the rather serious probability, as well as implications, of life after life. Highly recommended—both charming and deep!

I first met Edward Wild when he appeared in a short story Peter wrote in 2007. I felt like I was the OB/GYN or doula attending the midwife during the gestation and birth of Edward’s story. At the end of 2022, for two and a half months, I sat with Peter every morning as he read me the chapter he had written the previous evening. Along the way, I was often surprised by the imaginative turns of events that occurred to Edward during the night while I slept.
I found myself really loving Edward and Molly—looking forward to spending time with them. Getting to know them. Rooting for them. By the end of the book, I found myself saying—paraphrasing the famous line from the movie When Harry Met Sally—“I’ll have what they’re having!”
I loved the love story. The building of the connection of heart between two unlikely people. Molly’s liberation from the thoughts of her own mind, which constricted her, and Edward’s journey as a rather vain, external person into a person of depth and love. Hers was the journey of a person who had lived in an interior world quite smothered with concepts and untrue ideas. She blossomed like a flower. His journey was quite different—a man who outwardly appeared successful but who didn’t understand the first thing about what was truly valuable.
Is the world of this story possible or true? I have no idea. But I found myself longing for such a reality. For me, it was a story of possibility and beauty. I’m very happy for them, and I have missed them since they stopped telling me about their adventures after the last page.
