A Kiss is the Door to Heaven

Sep 18, 2001

Two beings,
   if separate in thought,
   harassed in a moment
   by nothing at all,
Live apart
   without trying.

Friends,
   mates, partners -- lovers,
   sharing eggs and toast forever,
Are more than tenants,
   paying a common rent.

Casual awareness,
   window shopping
   in front rooms of feelings,
Leaves one bland
   because of ignorance.

Two beings
   is a phrase
   to be supplanted
By a oneness
   subatomic in passion.

Merging
   love at the
   cellular level
Can't happen
   with a yawn.

The explosion
   of spherical love
   needs a spark,
A pilot light
   and a compass.

A kiss,
   a communion
   of giving
Repeated endlessly,
   is the door to heaven.
